The Toledo men’s golf team was recognized by the Golf Coaches Association of America with the announcement of the 2019 Team Academic Awards.

The award is presented to teams that finished with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.

The Rockets also received Special President’s Recognition as one of 19 NCAA Division I programs that posted a 3.5 GPA or higher. Toledo finished the 2018-19 academic year with a team GPA of 3.592.

To be eligible for Golf Coaches Association of America Outstanding Team Academic honors, a college or university must submit GPAs for each player on their official squad list for the academic year. A total of 199 schools at the NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA and NJCAA levels submitted GPAs of 3.0 or above.

In the 2018-19 season, Head Coach Jeff Roope guided the Rockets to a third-place finish at the Mid-American Conference Championships. In addition, senior Duncan McNeill earned MAC medalist honors and tied for 12th place at the NCAA Louisville Regional.
