Reinvented town hall meetings to debut Tuesday

The University of Toledo will debut the new iteration of the president’s town hall meeting with the launch of UToledo Inside Tuesday, Jan. 22, at 10 a.m. in the Student Union Ingman Room.

In partnership with the Department of Communication, the Division of External Affairs has reinvented the regular events to be more engaging for viewers and to better showcase the important issues, activities and achievements across the University.

“Those who attend in person and those who choose to watch via the website will enjoy higher production value, including videos, graphics, support slides and other elements designed to enhance the communications vehicle,” said Tobin J. Klinger, associate vice president for university communication. “We’ve worked closely with members of the academic Communication Department to create an opportunity to help share information by UT leaders, but will also serve our communication students with new technologies and set pieces that they will have access to in their academic experience.”

The first episode of UToledo Inside, which will be held every other month, will feature a question-and-answer period, and detailed information on the new Main Campus strategic plan, athletics, and successes in customer satisfaction at The University of Toledo Medical Center. The program also will feature a performance by music faculty members.

“Quality communications are critical components of the success of any organization,” said Dr. Lloyd Jacobs, “and this university has dedicated itself to keeping our constituents informed. This new effort will help us take that commitment to the next level.”

Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend UToledo Inside in person, but those unable to be there can view the program live at video.utoledo.edu.

Questions still can be submitted in advance or during the program to townhallquestions@utoledo.edu, or via the UT Facebook page and Twitter account.
