No one knows campus life better than those who are living it.

Whether it’s useful tips on study spots and ways to get involved on campus or important advice on how to manage a full class load and adapt to college life, students are the best resource for authentic takes and helpful information.

The University of Toledo launched a brand ambassador program that provides students the opportunity to share their valuable insights with incoming and current students.

Nominated by their professors, coaches and advisors, these first 46 UToledo brand ambassadors from diverse academic programs are eager to share their stories and experiences with the Rocket community.

Each week, student ambassadors will share their experiences through vlogs, columns featured in UToledo News, takeovers of the @UToledoStudents Twitter account and collaborations with the University’s social media team to answer questions or share insights on the @UofToledo Instagram Story.

The first week’s vlog features Ali Mavis, a marketing junior in the John B. and Lillian E. Neff College of Business and Innovation. In her video, Mavis talks about her journey to UToledo and her search for ways to get involved on campus – to not just make friends and stay active but to further her studies and learn more about the expansive possibilities of a marketing career.

At one point in the video, Mavis gives the audience a behind-the-scenes peak at one of her Women In Business Leadership meetings. This includes highlighting the meeting’s guest speakers and showcasing group members having professional photos taken for resumes and LinkedIn profiles.

“My last piece of advice for anyone considering coming to college is to jump in and do it for yourself,” Mavis said at the end of her vlog. “Do it to make friends, to expand your career opportunities, to experience a little bit of independence. Do it for the right reasons but do it for yourself.”

Future videos, blogs and takeovers will be shared on University social media accounts, so be sure to follow along.
