The UT Office of Marketing outshone the competition at the 2014 ADDY Awards, taking home four awards during the Feb. 27 event at the Valentine Theatre.

The American Advertising Federation Toledo chapter hosted the contest, which is the first round of the national American Advertising Awards (ADDYs).

UT won for the following entries:

• Gold ADDY for the UT Discovers magazine in the category of publication design for a magazine or book;

• Silver ADDY for the UT undergraduate view book in the category of four-color brochures;

• Silver ADDY for the Rocky video series in the category of social media; and

• Silver ADDY for the undergraduate admission direct mail pieces in the category of cross-platform campaign (regional/national).

“The UT marketing and communications team last year completed more than 850 design projects and posted more than 1,700 videos on YouTube,” said Esther Fabian, associate vice president for branding and creative services. “To produce that much volume and maintain a quality that results in four ADDY awards is truly outstanding.”

“Once again our team in External Affairs is recognized for its strategic and creative work. The Rocket brand is growing each day,” said Larry Burns, vice president for external affairs.

UT’s gold award-winning entry will be forwarded on to the district contest, the second in the three-tier national ADDY competition.
