Space for the three UT boys’ basketball camps this summer is filling up fast.

bball artDay camps will be held for boys entering third- through eighth-grades Monday through Thursday, June 17-20, and Monday through Thursday, July 15-18.

A new Shooting and Offense Improvement Camp also will debut this year Monday through Wednesday, July 1-3.

In addition, children in kindergarten through second grade can attend the July 15-18 camp for a half day.

The purpose of the camp is to instruct young players in the fundamentals of the game and help instill a love and appreciation for basketball and good sportsmanship. Every participant can count on a rewarding week of playing hard, playing together, having fun, and improving his basketball skills.

Campers will have the opportunity to play in Savage Arena as well as tour the facility. Each camper also will receive a personal evaluation and a basketball handbook.

“We’re very excited to be offering three camps this summer, including our new shooting camp,” Toledo Head Men’s Basketball Coach Tod Kowalczyk said. “We believe that every camper that attends the Toledo Rocket Basketball Camp will leave a better player and have a ton of fun while also receiving tremendous individual instruction.”

The fee for the camp is $200. A $20 discount will be provided for those who pay by Wednesday, May 1; attend more than one camp; have two or more family members attend a camp; or sign up for camp with a group of five or more kids. The biggest discount available is $60 per camp. Full-time employees of The University of Toledo also will receive a $20 discount for their sons and can receive an additional $40 discount by fulfilling two of the previous four criteria.
