Work on replacing the David Leigh Root Bridge on Stadium Drive on Main Campus will require closing two parking lots for a short time next week.
Lot 10 north of the Glass Bowl is scheduled to close Monday through Wednesday, May 16-18.
Work continues on the new Root Bridge.
“The contractor will be setting the precast concrete pieces of the bridge during these days, so there will be heavy semi-truck traffic and crane movement associated with offloading and setting those members in place,” Christopher Levicki, UT manager of structural maintenance, said.
“We are trying to keep these shutdowns as short as possible and apologize for the inconvenience,” he said. “We appreciate everyone’s patience.”
The new bridge is expected to open in August.
