Eateries in the Student Union are reopening following the completion of repairs to waterlines serving that building and Carlson Library.
Phoenicia Cuisine resumed operations Monday, June 1, and is open for its regular summer hours of 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays.
Starbucks will reopen Tuesday for normal summer hours, which are 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays, and Subway will reopen Wednesday for its summer hours, which are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Magic Wok is expected to reopen Monday, June 8.
Croutons will be available to the UT community this week only during this transition period offering salads from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
The Student Union and Carlson Library reopened to the public on Friday after water service was restored to the buildings.
The drinking fountains and eateries, however, remained closed while the buildings were on a boil water drinking advisory that was lifted Monday morning following testing by Toledo-Lucas County Health Department officials.
Following a water main break last month, approximately 100 feet of waterlines to the buildings were replaced. Portable toilets, hand-washing stations, bottled water and maintained life safety systems allowed for limited operations during the repairs.
“We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we worked to address this issue,” said Jason Toth, associate vice president of facilities.
