Women & Philanthropy at The University of Toledo will hold an event to showcase the impact of its 2011 grant to the Center for Excellence in Autism.

A tour of the center, located inside the Lenore W. and Marvin B. Kobacker Center on UT’s Health Science Campus, will take place Thursday, June 13, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The event will include a presentation by Dr. Sherry Moyer, the center’s executive and research director, about “The Challenges of Girls and Women With Autism.”

A 2011 grant from Women & Philanthropy supported a “sensory friendly” gynecological examination room for the center’s adolescent girl’s and women’s initiative. Grant awards are made possible by member dues.

Women & Philanthropy members and those interested in touring the facility are encouraged to RSVP to Chris Spengler, director of advancement relations in Institutional Advancement, by Friday, June 7, at 419.530.4927 or chris.spengler@utoledo.edu.
