The Confucius Institute and the Center for International Studies and Programs are preparing to participate in the Dragon Boat Summer Learning Festival Saturday, June 20.
Competing in the festival will be, from left, Michael Mahon, immigration adviser; Dayna Boes, immigration coordinator; Xinren Yu, international program coordinator; and students Da Sun and Yichang Li.
“There will be two boats full of UT faculty and staff and students,” said Xinren Yu, international program coordinator. “The day will be a great time for all, and we encourage the University community to come out and support our teams.”
More than 30 teams will paddle colorful and traditional dragon boats down the Maumee River at the annual festival, which has been renamed and will be held on National Summer Learning Day.
There will be a summer learning village with hands-on activities from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the Chinese Association of Greater Toledo will perform.
