Confucius Institute, Center for International Studies and Programs team up to compete in Dragon Boat Summer Learning Festival

The Confucius Institute and the Center for International Studies and Programs are preparing to participate in the Dragon Boat Summer Learning Festival Saturday, June 20.

The free, public event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in International Park in downtown Toledo.

“There will be two boats full of UT faculty and staff and students,” said Xinren Yu, international program coordinator. “The day will be a great time for all, and we encourage the University community to come out and support our teams.”

More than 30 teams will paddle colorful and traditional dragon boats down the Maumee River at the annual festival, which has been renamed and will be held on National Summer Learning Day.

There will be a summer learning village with hands-on activities from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the Chinese Association of Greater Toledo will perform.
