Back-to-college planning is in full swing for students returning next month.
As the first day of fall semester approaches on Monday, Aug. 19, students are asked to keep a few important dates in mind as they finalize class registrations, residence arrangements and other essentials.
“We know our students have active lives as the end of summer approaches,” said Dr. Kaye Patten Wallace, senior vice president for the student experience. “It’s important, though, to keep a few key dates in mind and do a little planning before classes begin in August. A little foresight can prevent snafus regarding class schedules, on-campus amenities, and other facets of enjoying student life.”
Tuesday, July 9
Financial and scheduling information will be fully updated for fall semester in students’ accounts on the myUT portal. Students are reminded to monitor their accounts frequently, as figures regarding scholarships, grants and other financials can change and affect the balance. Go to myut.utoledo.edu and enter user names and passwords for more information.
Friday, Aug. 9
This is the official deadline for students to pay outstanding balances for fall 2013 and previous semesters, or to make their first Installment Payment Plan payments.
Wednesday, Aug. 14
Students who have not paid outstanding balances in full or made arrangements through the Installment Payment Plan will be subject to registration cancellation on Wednesday, Aug. 14.
Per UT’s registration cancellation policy, students may be dropped from registered classes, current housing assignments and all University-related amenities. Until financial arrangements are made, these students also may not be eligible to re-register for any classes or receive housing assignments.
Impacted students also could experience negative credit reporting.
