Steam plant renovations to occur in July

From Friday, July 11, through Friday, Aug. 1, the Steam Plant at The University of Toledo will be undergoing renovations.

The steam lines on Main Campus are being expanded to be more efficient. The project also will provide more comfortable buildings for faculty, staff and students.

During the expansion, the amount of steam distributed to Main Campus will be reduced. All residence halls have backup water heaters to make up for this reduction, but other buildings on campus might experience temperature differences.

This reduction in steam might cause buildings using reheat, like Wolfe Hall and the basement of Bowman-Oddy Laboratories, to be cooler than usual.

Reheat is an older system that cools down to dehumidify the air and then reheat the air.

If these areas do get cooler than usual, contact Facilities and Construction so that locations where the system needs to be updated are identified.
