Based on recent feedback from faculty and employees, the deadline for each of the following mandatory compliance training courses has been extended to Thursday, Aug. 31, for 12-month faculty and staff:

• Intersections: Supervisor Anti-Harassment and Title IX;

• Ohio Ethics Commission: Ethics – It’s Everybody’s Business; and

• HIPAA Basics (for employees who are part of the UT “hybrid entity,” as well as those assigned due to their direct or indirect ties to patient care).

Nine-month, 10-month and part-time faculty and staff will receive notification on or about Sept. 1 to take these courses, and their deadline to complete these courses has been extended to Tuesday, Oct. 31.

Faculty and staff may continue to use the email invitations they received to access these courses, or they also may access them in the Training and Career Development section via myUT.

Due to a technical difficulty last week, it was necessary to change the method to access the Ohio Ethics Commission course. The link now directs you to the Ohio Ethics Commission website. Therefore, you must print your course certificate of completion and email it to Additional instructions can be found on the course webpage.

If you already have taken any of the above courses since January, either online or in a face-to-face setting, there is no need for you to take additional action at this time (such as submitting a certificate of completion) because Human Resources and Talent Development has your course completion data in its records.

To date, Human Resources has received nearly 4,000 certificates of completion. “We greatly appreciate this enthusiastic support of our training initiative, which helps us to meet institutional compliance,” said Wendy Davis, associate vice president of human resources and talent development.
