Rockets to host Fan Appreciation Day, grand re-opening of Rocky’s Locker

football posterRocket fans can get a double dose of fun Saturday, Aug. 17, when The University of Toledo football program hosts its annual Fan Appreciation Day at the Glass Bowl and Rocky’s Locker (the former Rocket Shop) has a celebration for its grand re-opening in Savage Arena.

Fan Appreciation Day will begin at 2 p.m. Fans can watch practice, then meet the players and coaches for an autograph session at approximately 4 p.m. under the west side grand stands.

The first 500 fans to the free event will receive a free Rocket football poster.

Fans also will be able to get photos taken with their favorite Rocket player or with UT mascots Rocky and Rocksy.

In addition, fans can stock up on the latest Rocket gear at the newly expanded Rocky’s Locker, which will be open from noon to 5 p.m. in a special grand re-opening.

Coupons for special discounts will be given to fans at the Glass Bowl, and food will be available for sale outside Savage Arena. Rocky’s Locker is located in the Sullivan Athletic Complex at Savage Arena.

Fans also can purchase season tickets at the Savage Arena Ticket Office from noon to 5 p.m. during the event. Ultimate Fan Plan season tickets are still available; for $65, the Ultimate Fan Plan features a season ticket, a $20 gift certificate to Rocky’s Locker, free parking, and free food at every game.

The Rockets will open their season Saturday, Aug. 31, at No. 10 Florida and begin their home campaign Saturday, Sept. 14, vs. Eastern Washington.
