Spring rains have delayed the installation of a new steam and condensate tunnel on Main Campus.

That means students, faculty and staff will need to carefully navigate the southeast section of Centennial Mall on Main Campus.

When classes start Monday, Aug., 26, the north entrance of the Snyder Memorial Building will be open.

“Sidewalks will be going in over the next few weeks,” Dan Perry, electrical manager in Facilities and Construction, said. “We will slowly be removing fencing as the concrete is ready to open more walkways.

“We thank everyone for their patience as we finish this project.”

Before the construction is completed, sidewalks between the Thompson Student Union and the Snyder Memorial Building will need to be replaced. When that occurs, the east entrance to the Thompson Student Union will be closed for a few days likely in mid-September.

“We will update everyone as the project nears its completion, which should be in late September,” Perry said.
