‘The Relevant University’ to air Aug. 25

Tune in to “The Relevant University” Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 7 p.m. on AM 760 WJR.

This month, Mary-Bec Gwyn, UT associate vice president for branding and creative services, discusses human and labor trafficking as The University of Toledo gears up for the Human Trafficking and Social Justice Conference, the largest scholarly anti-trafficking conference in Toledo.

Relevant U logo 2014In this month’s episode, Gwyn is joined by co-host Dr. Thomas Gutteridge, UT senior vice provost and interim dean of the College of Social Justice and Human Service.

Gwyn and Gutteridge interview Dr. Celia Williamson, UT professor of social work and director of the University’s new Human Trafficking and Social Justice Institute.

The program also includes an interview with State Rep. Teresa Fedor about legislative action that includes a penalty enhancement for human trafficking and a task force to study the problem in Ohio.

The University of Toledo and Detroit’s WJR Radio produce the monthly, hour-long program that explores the critical role higher education plays in our world.
