The University of Toledo Department of Theatre and Film is hosting auditions next week for two of its three productions this academic year.

Auditions for “Festival of New Student Work” and “Elkshire” are open to all UToledo students and community members from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, and Wednesday, Sept. 8, in the Center for Performing Arts.

Now a junior majoring in communications and minoring in theatre, Seth Mansu was a sophomore in February 2020 when he performed in “The Flick,” the last live, in-person production before COVID-19 hit.

Visit the department’s office in the Center for Performing Arts to sign up for an audition time by 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7.

Students are invited to prepare a 60-second monologue, but sides for cold reads will be provided at the door.

Rehearsals are from 6 to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Auditions for the spring musical, “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” will be held in November.

Email questions to Dr. Matthew Foss, an associate professor of theatre and film, at matthew.foss@utoledo.edu.
