Annual race fundraiser to take place Sept. 13

The Student Academy of the American Academy of Physician Assistants will host the second annual Race for a Cause Saturday, Sept. 13, at 8:30 a.m. on Health Science Campus.

raceInformation packet pickup will start at 7:30 a.m. outside Mulford Library.

Kimberly Simons, publicist for the UT physician assistant student organization, said the group is expecting an even better turn out this year.

Individuals may register online here where they will be required to pay a $23 registration fee. They also have the option of paying a $25 registration fee on the day of the event. Teams of four or more can register for $18 per person.

A 3K walk also will be held. Registration for the walk is available online for $15 per person or $11 per person for teams of four or more.

All proceeds will be donated to the Sparrows Nest, a local charity owned by Cherry Street Mission Ministries.

“It’s a very worthy cause, but it’s an underfunded program,” Simons said.

Parking will be available on the day of the event in Lot 44 in front of the Collier Building.
