The University of Toledo is partnering with the American Red Cross to host two on-campus blood drives Tuesday, Sept. 14.

“With the current blood shortage in our region and the impact the pandemic has had on the cancellation of donation drives, we believe this is one step we can take to impact patients who require lifesaving blood,” said Dr. Michael Ellis, infectious disease specialist and chief medical officer at The University of Toledo Medical Center.

Donors can give blood on Main Campus in the Thompson Student Union Room 2520 or on Health Science Campus in the Morse Center, located on the third floor of Dowling Hall. Both blood drives are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“Our region has felt the impact of the blood shortage,” Ellis said. “One of the most important steps you can do at this time is to donate blood. We are counting on our students, faculty and staff to participate in these blood drives to ensure we can support patient needs.”
