Rocket Health hosts its Rocket Health Fair on Tuesday, Sept. 14, for students, faculty and staff. Scheduled from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. at the University Health Center on Main Campus, the event will feature health screenings, cooking demos, fitness activities, a wide range of health and safety information and vaccine availability. It will also feature music, cardio drumming and raffle prizes.

“This is an opportunity to introduce Rocket Health to all of our University stakeholders and make sure they know the health and wellness resources available to them on our campuses,” said Linda Lewandowski, vice provost for health affairs for interprofessional and community partnerships, dean of the College of Nursing, and interim executive director of University Health Services.

In January the University announced a new University campus health services model designed to provide students faculty and staff with comprehensive and integrated health and wellness services. Rocket Health, the new model, centralizes all campus clinical, pharmacy, mental health/counseling and wellness services to ensure coordination and adequate support for all members of the campus community.

“As we continue to welcome back more people to campus in a safe manner, we want to be sure that our community knows where to access the support they need — whether it is counseling, medical appointments, prescriptions, vaccines and flu shots, or participating in wellness programming to improve their quality of life,” Lewandowski said.  “Rocket Health can help them coordinate the comprehensive support they need for success.”

Lewandowski also emphasized that Rocket Health is accessible to all campus stakeholders.

“We want students to know that we’re here to help them, and for families to know that there is someone here to help take care of their student when the student is not feeling their best,” she said. “But Rocket Health is also here to provide medical, prescription and wellness services for our faculty and staff if they need it, so we welcome them to attend the Rocket Health Fair as well.”
