October means open enrollment for the Professional Staff Association (PSA) Sick Leave Bank.
PSA members can make a one-time donation: Full-time employees can give 16 hours, and part-time staff can donate eight hours.
Established in 1998, The University of Toledo Professional Staff Association’s Sick Leave Bank has proven to be a worthwhile effort, according to Deb Sobczak, chair of the Sick Leave Bank Committee.
“The Professional Staff Association Sick Leave Bank provides help for all members who have exhausted their own vacation and sick hours due to a personal catastrophic illness or injury,” she said.
In 2010, the Sick Leave Bank was expanded to include professional staff on Health Science Campus. The University agreed to allow this valuable resource to continue in 2017.
“If you have not made a donation, please consider joining the PSA Sick Leave Bank and helping your co-workers who may need assistance now or in the future,” said Sobczak, director of student services, pre-pharmacy, in the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Those who wish to join the Sick Leave Bank and help their co-workers can find policy information, current member list, and the donation form on the Professional Staff Association website.
