Men’s Basketball Team to Hold Open Practice Oct. 5 During Homecoming

The Toledo men’s basketball program will hold an open practice session Saturday, Oct. 5, in Savage Arena as a part of The University of Toledo’s 2019 Homecoming events.

The practice will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. following the Edward C. and Helen G. Schmakel Homecoming Parade, which starts at 10:30 a.m.

The men’s basketball team will hold an open practice Saturday, Oct. 5, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in Savage Arena.

Free pizza and soda courtesy of Domino’s Pizza will be provided to fans, along with an opportunity to tour the facility and select your seat for season tickets following practice.

Fans planning to attend are encouraged to use parking lot 2 and the East Parking Garage. Normal game-day parking rules apply.

Toledo posted a 25-8 record in 2018-19, a season that included a Mid-American Conference West Division title and an NIT berth. The Rockets return three starters from last year’s squad — junior Marreon Jackson (11.7 points per game, 4.2 assists per game), senior Luke Knapke (10.5 points per game, 6.6 rebounds per game) and senior Willie Jackson (8.5 points per game, team-high 8.9 rebounds per game) — as well as junior Spencer Littleson (4.2 points per game).

The Rockets will open their regular season Tuesday, Nov. 5, at Valparaiso at 7 p.m. Central Time. Prior to that, they will play two exhibition games against a pair of NCAA Division II schools, one at home and one on the road. Toledo will host Hillsdale in Savage Arena Saturday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. before visiting Findlay Sunday, Oct. 27, at 2 p.m.
