The University of Toledo is ranked No. 24 in the latest Associated Press writers’ poll, its first appearance in the Top 25 since 2012.

The Rockets also moved up in the USA Today coaches’ poll, picking up 24 points for an unofficial ranking of No. 29.

The last time Toledo was ranked was Oct. 29, 2012. UT was 8-1 at the time with an eight-game winning streak, its only loss in overtime at Arizona in the season opener.

Toledo will host Kent State (2-3) Saturday, Oct. 10, at 3 p.m. in its Homecoming game in the Glass Bowl. Kent State, which features the No. 1 defense in the MAC, defeated Miami last week, 20-14.
