The tournament was held at Hawthorns Golf and Country Club, the site of the 2014 Mid-American Conference Women’s Golf Championship.

“We were really excited to return to Hawthorns since we hosted this event here for the first time in 2009,” Head Coach Nicole Hollingsworth said. “Today was a tough day on the course with the recent heavy rains, and we really had to fight to bring home the championship. I’m very happy for Manisa [Isavas] with her best finish ever, and she played a big part in the total team effort to win this title.”

Isavas, a sophomore, paced the Rockets with a career-best second-place showing as she finished two strokes behind medalist Jenna Hague (72-75=147) of Ball State with a five-over par 149 (74-75).

Right behind Isavas was classmate Sathika Ruenreong, who finished in a three-way tie for third place at eight-over par 152 (74-78).

Senior Kate Hoops also registered a top 10 finish for the Rockets by tying for seventh place at 10-over par 154 (79-75). Junior Jennifer Elsholz tied for 13th place at 13-over par 157 (77-80), while sophomore Morgan Salm tied for 31st place at 18-over par 162 (83-79).

Junior Stephanie St-Jean (83-81) and sophomore Emily Dixon (83-81) competed as individuals and tied for 38th place at 20-over par 164.

Toledo will return to action next week when the team hosts the Rocket Classic at Catawba Island Country Club Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 14-15.
