Junior Eric Page was named the national Punt Returner of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards for his efforts in Toledo’s 54-16 victory over Eastern Michigan Oct. 8.

Page had an 85-yard punt return for a score in the second period, his first collegiate score on a punt return and tied for fourth-longest return in school history.

Page also caught 11 passes for 109 yards, vaulting him past current Arizona Cardinal Stephen Williams to the top spot on UT’s career receptions list with 235.

The College Football Performance Awards gives out annual honors for the top player at each position in which statistics are kept. The awards are given out based on statistical impact on a player’s team’s performance. Page earned the College Football Performance Award as the Kickoff Returner of the Year in 2010.

Page’s performance also landed him a spot on the Paul Hornung Award Weekly Honor Roll. It’s the fourth time this season he has been tapped for this weekly honor, which recognizes versatile, single-game performances around the nation by Football Bowl Subdivision student-athletes.

Fan voting to select the finalists for the 2011 Paul Hornung Award is open on Facebook and being powered by Texas Roadhouse and the Louisville Sports Commission. Vote once a day by going to www.votepaulhornung.com.

In addition, Page was named the Mid-American Conference Special Teams Player of the Week.
