Dr. Randy Ellingson, professor in the UToledo Department of Physics and Astronomy, also serves as treasurer and technical and education coordinator for Glass City Community Solar, a nonprofit organization that is installing solar panels on the rooftop of a federally subsidized apartment building for low-income residents in Toledo. First-year electricity cost savings through the clean energy project are estimated at $4,000.
