‘Meet Generation NeXt’ Oct. 24

Faculty members are invited to attend a presentation on “Meet Generation NeXt: Understanding Today’s Learners” Friday, Oct. 24.

generation nextSponsored by the University Teaching Center, the event will be offered three times:

• 9 to 10:30 a.m. in University Hall Room 4410;

• Noon to 1 p.m. in Collier Building Room 1220; and

• 2 to 4:30 p.m. in University Hall Room 4410.

Dr. Mark Taylor, an educator and consultant who is an expert on the traits, developmental issues and learning outcomes on today’s young people, will lead the presentation.

He will discuss the social, personal and academic preferences Generation NeXt students bring to college and how to help them reach their educational and personal goals. Taylor also will cover new classroom approaches to increase student participation and how to employ technologies to improve instruction.

“Faculty will be more equipped to engage their students in the learning process and better prepare them for their futures by learning Mark’s strategies,” said Angela Paprocki, assistant provost for instructional strategies.
