Andrew Cooperstock will visit the University as the next guest performer for the Dorothy MacKenzie Price Piano Series.

He will give a master class Saturday, Nov. 6, from 10 a.m. to noon, and take the stage for a recital Sunday, Nov. 7, at 3 p.m. Both events will take place in the Center for Performing Arts Recital Hall.

Cooperstock will present a recital program recognizing the birth-year anniversaries of W.F. Bach, Chopin, Barber and Schumann.

He is a senior member of the keyboard faculty at the University of Colorado at Boulder and chair of the Piano Department at Rocky Ridge Music Center.

Heralded as a technically impeccable and musically profound pianist, Cooperstock performs widely as soloist and chamber musician; he has appeared on five continents and in most of the 50 states.

He has won the National Federation of Music Clubs Artist Competition and the New Orleans International Piano Competition, and has performed at the United Nations.

An advocate for new music, Cooperstock has premiered works by several American composers, including Lowell Liebermann and Aaron Copland.
