Toledo rallied for an exciting 95-92 victory over Atlantic Coast Conference foe Boston College Thursday evening to improve its record to 2-0 on the young season.

Junior guard Julius Brown paced the Rockets with a game-high 23 points and 10 assists, while junior guard Justin Drummond tallied 20 points and a team-best five boards.

Joining the duo in double figures were sophomore center Nathan Boothe and junior forward J.D. Weatherspoon with 17 and 13 points, respectively.

UT shot 57.1 percent in the contest, including a sizzling 69.6 percent in the second stanza. The Rockets also outrebounded the Eagles, 31-27, and dominated the glass by a 20-7 margin in the final 20 minutes.

Toledo trailed 48-40 at the half but took its first lead since early in the opening frame on Brown’s fade-away jumper with 55 seconds left. Drummond then knocked down two free throws to extend the Rockets’ lead to four points, 90-86, and UT hit five of its next six free throws to seal the game.

Toledo returns home Monday, Nov. 18, to host Florida A&M in Savage Arena. Tip-off time is 7 p.m.
