The Office of Student Advocacy and Support is seeking donations for the Student Food Pantry throughout December.

With students opting to not return home for the break because of COVID-19, the Student Food Pantry is anticipating more students will utilize the pantry during the eight-week break.

“This winter break will be extremely difficult. The pandemic is having a tremendous impact on our students’ basic needs,” said Benjamin Weiner, coordinator of student advocacy and support. “Many of our students are facing financial constraints due to unemployment and that makes it harder for students to support themselves.”

In addition to food items, the Student Food Pantry is looking to provide students with personal hygiene items (shampoo, deodorant, menstrual products) and COVID-19 prevention products (hand sanitizer, hand soap, masks).

Donations can be made directly to the Student Food Pantry on Main Campus in the Lancelot Thompson Student Union Room 2504, or call 419.530.2171 to schedule a pick up.

Monetary donations can be made online through the UToledo Foundation website.
