The deadline for those required by The University of Toledo to receive a seasonal flu vaccine is Wednesday, Dec. 1.

All graduate and undergraduate students as well as employees who are not represented by a bargaining unit are required to get vaccinated under a new University policy that went into effect in September.

Influenza vaccines also are required for faculty, staff, students and volunteers at The University of Toledo Medical Center and other University clinics whose duties or positions cause them to be in patient care areas.

Free flu shots are available to employees and students on Main Campus Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturdays from noon to 3 p.m. at the University Health Center.

Individuals also can get their shot on Health Science Campus from 8 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday at the outpatient pharmacy in the UTMC Medical Pavilion.

Please note that no clinics will be held from Thursday, Nov. 25, through Sunday, Nov. 28, in observance of Thanksgiving.

Appointments are not required to get the vaccine on campus, but individuals do need to complete a consent form, available at influenza.utoledo.edu, prior to receiving their shot.

Proof of vaccination will be automatically uploaded for individuals who get their flu shot through the University. Students and employees who get their flu shot elsewhere will need to upload proof of vaccination through the University’s vaccine registry portal.

Proof of vaccination or an approved exemption for medical contraindications or sincerely held religious beliefs must be received by Dec. 1.

More information about clinic hours and upcoming pop-up vaccination events can be accessed via influenza.utoledo.edu or by visiting the University’s informational flu preparation website.
