Wednesday, Dec. 16, is the submission deadline for the 11th annual Health Science Campus Artist Showcase.

Accepted art will be on display from Jan. 25 through March 18 in Mulford Library.

Students, faculty and staff in nursing, pharmacy, medicine and the health sciences are invited to submit their work. All art forms will be considered as long as the library can adequately and safely display works.

To be considered for the showcase, artists are required to send digital images of their work to hscartshow@utoledo.edu along with a submission form that can be downloaded at http://libguides.utoledo.edu/hscart/submission.

The library does not have hanging materials, so if your artwork is accepted, it must be ready to hang. The library provides examples of hanging materials here.

Jodi Jameson, instructor in the College of Nursing, librarian in Mulford Library, and chair of the Health Science Campus Artist Showcase Committee, said this is a great opportunity for students and employees in the health sciences to show off their artistic side.

“It is not a juried show, so amateur artists who have never displayed their artwork before can do so in a safe, comfortable and relaxed environment,” Jameson said. “We always find that first-time participants turn into repeat participants because they enjoy it so much.”

There will be an artist reception Friday, Jan. 29, from 4 to 6 p.m. with guest speaker Laura Miller, an artist and nurse, who will talk about the healing effects of art and creativity.

If you have any questions, contact Jameson at jodi.jameson@utoledo.edu or 419.383.5152.
