The U.S. Department of Education’s Drug-Free Schools and Campuses Regulations require institutions of higher education to review their alcohol and other drug (AOD) programs and policies every two years.

As such, The University of Toledo prepares a review biennially in accordance with federal guidelines. Read the review for academic years 2016–18.

“The purpose of this review is to determine the effectiveness of our AOD policies and programs so we can implement any changes that might be necessary,” said Dave Cutri, executive director for internal audit and chief compliance officer. “We also want to make sure disciplinary sanctions for violating our standards of conduct are enforced consistently.”

The review includes information related to programming, assessment, policies and recommendations for revising prevention efforts in order to meet the requirements of the 1989 amendments to the Drug-Free Schools and Campuses Act, as stated in Part 86 of the regulations.

“The review is yet one additional means to help ensure our students, faculty and staff have a safe and healthy environment on all UT campuses,” Cutri said.
