Celebrate unity in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

At The University of Toledo, remembering Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. doesn’t stop on Monday.

Though UT will hold the 14th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Celebration Monday, Jan. 19, at 9 a.m. in Savage Arena, that isn’t the only event that will take place.

Unity Week is dedicated to remembering King and encouraging everyone to come together.

Listed by date, events scheduled this year are:

• Tuesday, Jan. 20 — Unity Speaks, 3 to 4 p.m., Student Union Trimble Lounge. Leaders from student organizations will speak about the importance of unity.

• Wednesday, Jan. 21 — Multicultural Lunch and Learn, noon to 1 p.m., Student Union Room 2500. There will be a dialogue on unity from different cultural perspectives.

• Thursday, Jan. 22 — Candy Crash: noon, Student Union Room 2500. Watch the movie “Crash” and participate in a discussion on inter-group relations. A candy-crashing activity will conclude the event.
