UToledo’s Annual Mom’s Weekend Kicks Off Friday

Mom’s Weekend, the annual UToledo event to celebrate Rocket moms, is scheduled to kick off a weekend of events from Friday, Nov. 15, through Sunday, Nov. 17.

Activities begin Friday with check-in from 5 to 9 p.m. in Thompson Student Union Auditorium. A Bob Ross Paint-Along will also take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in Student Union rooms 2582 and 2584. Families can wrap up their evening back in the auditorium for a Glow Party featuring an indoor roller-skating rink, glow-themed games and activities from 6 to 9 p.m.

•  Zumba, from 10 to 11 a.m., Thompson Student Union Rooms 2582 and 2584. Get your body moving with Zumba hosted by the UToledo Recreation Center.

•  Mom’s Appreciation Lunch, from 12:30 to 2 p.m., Thompson Student Union Auditorium. Celebrate the incredible mothers and mother figures with a special brunch in their honor.

•  Bloom With Us, from 2 to 4 p.m., Thompson Student Union Ingman Room. Unleash your inner gardener with handcrafted terra cotta pots to design and personalize.

•  Movie Night, from 8 to 10 p.m., Doermann Theater. Wind down the day with a screening of “Guardians of the Galaxy” in the historic Doermann Theater.

On Sunday, families will have the opportunity to enjoy the day on their own before wrapping up the weekend.
