The University of Toledo’s marketing team earned the top award for its website to recruit prospective students to campus in the 2021 Pride of CASE V Awards.

The Office of University Marketing and Communications also was recognized with bronze awards for crisis management, an early student registration campaign and photography.

UToledo’s ‘Your Tomorrow’ microsite received the top award in the 2021 Pride of CASE V Awards’ websites category.

The gold award in the websites category recognized UToledo’s Your Tomorrow microsite for its mobile-first approach and analysis of metrics for the immediate and long-term impact on student recruitment. Judges commented that the site “does an outstanding job targeting their audience by creating a microsite that meets prospective students where they browse information: their mobile devices.”

UToledo received a bronze award in the crisis management category for its entry “A Global Crisis Hits Home: UToledo’s Response to COVID-19.” The award noted the thoroughness of communications posted to the utoledo.edu/coronavirus website as more information about the novel coronavirus became available and also for efforts to highlight the expertise of University faculty in the media. The judges said, “The team’s media placements are also impressive and do double-duty: both illustrating that the university’s faculty are experts working to inform the conversation, as well as providing a wealth of outside information for students and their families to access.”

The University’s Get Ahead registration campaign earned a bronze award in the marketing on a shoestring category for efforts to encourage students to register early for the spring 2020 semester. The judge said, “The messaging and design are simple, yet powerful. Their foresight to use multiple channels to reach students is effective, and their use of in-house talent and resources kept costs minimal.”

And University Photographer Daniel Miller’s “unique take on a typical game-day image,” according to the judges, earned a bronze award in the individual photographs category. The image was of a Rockets linebacker taking the field for the 2019 Homecoming game.

“These awards recognize the exceptional work our marketing and communications teams, with support from our key communicators and partners across campus, are doing every day to enhance the brand and recognition of The University of Toledo,” said Dr. Adrienne King, associate vice president of marketing and communications. “I am so proud of our amazing creative teams who work tirelessly to share how UToledo is fueling tomorrows.”
