Career Services is accepting nominations for the 2022 Student Employee of the Year and Student Employment Supervisor of the Year awards. The deadline to submit entries for both awards is Thursday, Feb. 3.
Faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to nominate an outstanding student employee for this annual honor. Guidelines for the awards were established by the National Student Employment Association and the Midwest Association of Student Employment Administrators.
The UToledo Student of the Year Award winner automatically will be entered to contend for the state title, with the potential to advance to regionals and nationals. Last year, Calvin Sweeney, UToledo’s Student Employee of the Year, went on to win the Ohio Student Employee of the Year.
Student workers also have the opportunity to recognize the invaluable role supervisors play in their education and development outside of the classroom. Past recipients of this award have included Dan Miller, senior university photographer in the Office of Marketing and Communications, and Dexter Emch, operations administrator in Parking Services.
“These awards help to highlight the accomplishments of our outstanding on-campus student workers and the amazing supervisors who work with them every day,” said Joshua Vail, student employment specialist.
All nominees will be invited to an awards banquet scheduled for Wednesday, April 13.
