The IRS Form 1098-T is available for students who paid qualified tuition and related expenses in 2018.

The forms were mailed Jan. 29 to the permanent addresses listed on student accounts and also can be accessed through the myUT portal by clicking on the Tax Notification link under the My Accounts section and entering the tax year.

Students may be eligible for federal education tax credits. The Form 1098-T is one component that may assist in completing IRS Form 8863, which is used for calculating the education tax credits that a taxpayer may claim as part of their tax return.

The University staff are unable to provide individual tax advice. Students should consult the website and/or their tax professional to make a determination of qualifying expenses.
