The University of Toledo women’s basketball team has clinched a home game in the first round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament. The game will be played Monday, March 6, at Savage Arena at either 5:30 or 7 p.m., depending on whether the UT men also host a first-round game.
The opponent for the Rockets (20-8, 11-6 MAC) will be announced following Saturday’s regular-season finale at Ball State.
The Toledo men (15-15, 8-9 MAC) play their final regular-season game at Eastern Michigan Friday, March 3. If the Rockets win that game, they will be the No. 7 seed and host a game Monday, March 6, against an opponent to be determined. In that scenario, there would be a doubleheader at Savage Arena, with the women tipping off at 5:30 p.m. and the men playing at 8.
If the UT men lose at Eastern Michigan Friday, the Rockets’ MAC Tournament seed will be determined by the outcome of other MAC games that same night. The Rockets could host a first-round tournament game or they could play on the road. An announcement on the first-round pairings will be made immediately following the results of Friday’s games.
Tickets and parking for the first-round MAC Tournament games are included as part of all season-ticket packages, so season-ticket holders do not need to purchase tickets for Monday’s game(s). UT students will be admitted free with their ID.
Fans who are not season-ticket holders may purchase women’s tickets online here, by phone or at the UT Athletic Ticket Office. Men’s tickets would be available online beginning Friday night, and then by phone or at the ticket office Monday. If both the men’s and women’s team host games Monday, then one ticket would be good for both games.
The Joe Grogan Room will be open for the games Monday at 4 p.m. if there is a doubleheader, 5:30 p.m. if there is a women’s game only.
