The University of Toledo’s Department of Music is hosting the 34th annual student composer contest for high school and college-level student composers.
The annual event is in collaboration with Craig Whitaker, UToledo alumnus and owner of Craig’s Pianos and Keyboards in Toledo.
The contest is open to students enrolled in secondary schools, colleges and universities in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. There is a total of $900 in prize money available.
Entries — which are at no-cost — must be original, unperformed and unpublished college-level compositions for a violin, viola, cello or piano.
Works must be a minimum of three minutes and can be submitted online through a contest webform. PDF scores with digital recordings are preferred.
All entries are due Friday, April 11.
For more information and to enter the contest, visit the Department of Music’s website.
