His selection marks the second-straight year that a Rocket is participating in the event.

The Portsmouth Invitational is the second event Brown has competed in since concluding his Rocket career. In the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-Star Game last Friday, he scored 12 points on 5 of 7 shooting (2 of 3 from three-point range) in 19 minutes.

The tournament has been held since 1953 and each year invites top college basketball seniors from across the country to participate in the four-day, 12-game tournament in front of representatives from every NBA organization.

The Markham, Ill., native guided the Rockets to an 81-50 (.618) mark as the team’s point guard and received first-team All-Mid-American Conference First Team accolades for a second-straight season this past year. Brown led the Rockets in scoring for a second-straight campaign with 16.3 points per game to rank third in the MAC in scoring.

Brown concluded his Rocket career ranked second in assists (695), third in points (1,838), tied for third in field goals (635), fifth in three-point field-goals (199) and eighth in free-throw percentage (80.4). He also finished his career with most games played (131), games started (131) and minutes played (4,327) in school history.
