The steam plant on Main Campus will be shut down for several hours Thursday, April 18, for needed repairs to the steam line in the Thompson Student Union.

The shutdown is planned from 4 to 8 a.m., during which time there will be no heat or hot water in most campus buildings.

“We planned the shutdown to have the least impact on campus while we make some repairs that could not be delayed,” said Dan Perry, electrical manager in Facilities and Construction.

Additional work will continue on a section of the steam line between Stranahan Hall and Snyder Memorial Building through 9 a.m. Friday, April 19; this means the Snyder Memorial and Health and Human Services buildings will be without heat and hot water from Thursday morning through Friday morning.
