Several buildings on Main Campus may be affected when steam lines are shut down for routine maintenance starting Monday, May 13.
“During the shutdown, there will be no heat and no hot water,” Dan Perry, electrical manager, said. “Some buildings will have heat through internal boilers and radiant heat, as well as hot water through internal gas-fired hot water tanks.”
The buildings affected will be Gillham Hall, Libbey Hall, MacKinnon Hall, McMaster Hall, Memorial Field House, Ritter Planetarium, Savage & Associates Business Complex, Scott Hall, Stranahan Hall, Tucker Hall and University Hall.
Work is expected to be completed around Friday, June 21.
Air conditioning will be not be affected by the shutdown, according to Perry.
“We apologize for any inconvenience during this shutdown, which is needed to allow us to maintain and improve our campus infrastructure,” he said.
