The College of Arts and Sciences will have an acting dean for the immediate future after an unexpected medical procedure has forced Dr. Nina McClelland to temporarily transfer her duties as dean.

Dr. Lee Heritage, senior associate dean and associate professor of music, has been asked to serve as acting dean until McClelland’s health rebounds.

“Nina is in our thoughts as she recovers,” said Dr. William McMillen, interim provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. “Lee has our highest confidence as he helps keep the college moving forward in Nina’s absence.”
