“I’m so excited for Hannah,” two-time Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year Nicole Hollingsworth said. “She has worked extremely hard, and all of that work is starting to pay off.”

A Lambertville, Mich., native, Kochendoerfer birdied the first three holes of her second round and finished the front nine at four-under par 31. She also birdied the final hole of her round.

Kochendoerfer played in three tournaments for the Rockets in the recently completed 2015-16 campaign and posted an 86.3 stroke average.

The Midwest Collegiate Amateur Series will consist of seven tournaments this summer. Events also will be played at Findlay Country Club (June 23), Red Hawk Run in Findlay (July 18), Forest Akers West in Lansing, Mich. (July 21), Highland Meadows Golf Course in Sylvania (July 25), University of Michigan Golf Course in Ann Arbor (Aug. 1) and the Catawba Island Club in Port Clinton (Aug. 5).
