The University of Toledo Board of Trustees recommended approval of a tentative one-year contract extension between the University and the UT chapter of the American Association of University Professors at its Academic and Student Affairs Committee meeting June 6.

“This agreement marks an era of renewed partnership with faculty and demonstrates their commitment to this institution, to students and to the knowledge they are creating daily,” said C. William Fall, chair of the UT Board of Trustees.

UT President Lloyd Jacobs thanked the UT-AAUP leadership for their efforts.

“I and the entire administration are looking forward to a renewed partnership and working together to improve our university. With this agreement, UT’s faculty collective bargaining unit has demonstrated the same commitment to the institution that they show each and every day in the classroom, as they conduct research, and in the community,” Jacobs said.

The current three-year contract scheduled to expire June 30 will be extended until June 30, 2012. All terms and conditions of the agreement will remain in place.
