As part of its Summer Naturalist Series, The University of Toledo’s Lake Erie Center will host a presentation to train individuals how to visually monitor water quality.

“The program trains individuals on how to visibly assess water pollution by observing the water for signs such as oil sheens, surface foam, smell and evidence of dead organisms in order to judge if the situation is a concern that needs to be reported,” said Kathy Sullivan, communications tech specialist for the UT Lake Erie Center.
The free, public lecture is part of the Sierra Club’s Water Sentinels Program and is the second part of a two-step training program to become a volunteer activist for clean watersheds. Attendance to the previous lecture is not required.
