Much like painting and photography, quilting is an art form that takes time and passion — and has the potential to produce beautiful pieces of self-expression and creativity.

The Glass City Quilt Commission strives to showcase and heighten public awareness of quilts and their makers.

“Kaleidoscope of Quilts,” a collection of 12 quilts created by members of the commission, is on display through Friday, July 10, in the Catharine S. Eberly Center for Women, located in Tucker Hall Room 0168 on Main Campus. The free exhibit can be seen from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Quilts from each of the commission’s traveling exhibits, including the 12 on display at the Eberly Center, will be sold during a silent auction Friday and Saturday, July 17 and 18, at the Franciscan Center in Sylvania. “Kaleidoscope of Quilts XIV Quilt Show” also will feature classes and lectures, a merchant mall, style show, and special displays and demonstrations.
