Four members of the University of Toledo women’s tennis team and five members of the men’s tennis team were named Academic All-MAC, the league office announced Friday.
On the women’s team, Eileen Carney, Laura Morera, Patricia Panta and Sloane Teske were the four Rockets to earn the academic honor. This marks the first Academic All-MAC distinction for all four student-athletes.
On the men’s team, Luis Kleinschnitz, Cole Shoults, Max Skaer, Thawin Suksathaporn and Filip Zupancic all earned spots on the league’s all-academic squad. This marks the third Academic All-MAC honor for Suksathaporn and the first for the other four honorees.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
