The University of Toledo is implementing a University-wide parking system that will include permit fees for faculty, staff, students and affiliates on all campuses.

Beginning with the 2015-16 academic year, employees on Health Science Campus will pay fees for a permit to park at the University.

“Parking services is one of the few areas that hadn’t yet consolidated to one unified approach for all campuses following the merger of UT and the former Medical University of Ohio, and we are changing that for this coming year,” said Sherri Kaspar, public safety support services manager.

Health Science Campus employees also now have access to the Student Recreation Center on Main Campus as the University works to create benefit parity across all campuses.

Employees and affiliates on all campuses can register for their parking permits for the 2015-16 academic year the week before class start.

To register, visit myparking.utoledo.edu and log in using your UTAD credentials. Click on “Apply for a Permit” and enter your vehicle information to secure your parking permit. The online system assigns the appropriate parking permit based on the individual’s employee or student classification.

The deadline to register for a parking permit is Monday, Aug. 24, which is the first day of classes for the academic year. The annual permits are valid through Aug. 5, 2016.

Parking Services is developing a new parking system to be implemented next year that will give employees and students options for different levels of parking permits.

“We are reviewing a system similar to what you see at special events where priority parking in prime campus locations would require a premium parking permit, and there would be discounts for those who choose to park in the lots outside the central hub of campus,” Kaspar said.
