The University of Toledo will host New Hampshire in the season-opening football game in 2014, UT Vice President and Athletic Director Mike O’Brien announced today.
New Hampshire plays in the NCAA Division I Championship Series Division. The Wildcats completed the 2012 campaign with an 8-4 record, their ninth consecutive winning season. New Hampshire has had three victories over Football Championship Subdivision schools in recent seasons: Marshall (2007), Army (2008) and Ball State (2009).
“We are very pleased to add New Hampshire to our football schedule,” O’Brien said. “They have been a proven winner in the FCS for a long time. We look forward to an outstanding matchup in 2014.”
Toledo and New Hampshire have played four times in football, with the Rockets winning each time. UT most recently came away with a 58-22 victory in 2011.
The New Hampshire game completes Toledo’s 2014 non-conference schedule. The Rockets also host Missouri Sept. 6, and travel to Cincinnati and Iowa State.
